ABOUT BUCKNER TRAILERS

Built by our people. Carried by our customers.

Fifteen years ago this was a handful of people in an old trailer plant in Springville, Alabama. We've never run an ad, never bought a lead. Every job that's come through these doors came because somebody told somebody else about us — and that's a debt we take seriously.

WHERE THE CREDIT GOES

We didn't get here on our own — and we know it.

Not one bit of this was built on advertising. It was built on people who did honest work, customers who trusted us with their equipment and then told their friends, and a whole lot of grace we didn't earn. To God be the glory.

OUR STORY

Fifteen years in the same building, doing the same thing better every year

Buckner Trailers was established in 2010 by the Buckner family, in a building they already owned — the same building that once housed the original Liddell Trailers plant. That mattered more than anyone realized at the time. Several men who had built trailers under the Liddell name were still around, and they stayed. Some of them are still with us today. Several others finished out their careers here and retired from this shop — which tells you most of what you need to know about how we do things. The knowledge never left this building. It just went to work under a new name.

In 2017, Byron Buckner took full ownership of the company. He'd be the first to say he didn't know everything he needed to know on day one — and the last to take credit for what's happened since. What he did was show up. Every day. Learning the work, leading the crew, and holding the shop to a standard of quality that didn't have to be argued for because he set it himself, in front of everybody, by doing it.

What's happened since is more than any business plan called for. We expanded the crew and the facility. We brought machining in-house so we could cut our own parts instead of waiting on somebody else's schedule. We became a Landoll dealer. We stepped up manufacturing production and started designing and building complete trailers, not just fixing them. Looking back at the size of it — the growth, the timing, the doors that opened — we don't have a business explanation for all of it. We give God the glory for that, plainly and without apology.

2010

The doors open

The Buckner family establishes Buckner Trailers in the family-owned building that once housed the original Liddell Trailers plant. Several former Liddell trailer builders stay on — some are still here today, and others retired from this shop.

2017

Byron takes ownership

Byron Buckner takes full ownership and commits himself to the shop daily — learning the work, leading the crew, and setting the standard for quality by example rather than by memo.

TODAY

A full-capability shop

A larger crew and expanded facility. In-house machining. A Landoll dealership. Increased manufacturing production, with Buckner-built trailers designed and fabricated from the ground up — repair, refurb, modification, machining, parts, and new builds, all under one roof.

OUR PEOPLE

The company is the crew — everything else is just a building and some equipment

You can buy machines. You can buy a building. You cannot buy a fabricator who has been reading steel for thirty years, or a parts man who takes it personally when a customer is stuck. That's the part of this business that isn't for sale, and it's the only part that really matters.

01

Fabrication & Welding

The men who cut, fit, and lay the bead. Some of them learned this trade in this very building under the Liddell name and are still at it today. They're the reason a Buckner-built frame comes out square and stays square.

02

Repair & Refurbishing

The crew that sees a trailer at its worst and knows exactly what it can be again. Decades of combined experience diagnosing what's actually wrong instead of guessing at it — and fixing it once, correctly.

03

Paint & Finishing

Blast, prep, prime, paint. This is the part customers see first and judge hardest, and our finishing crew knows it. They don't rush the prep, which is why the finish holds up out on the road.

04

Machine Shop

Bringing machining in-house changed what we're able to promise. When a part doesn't exist anymore, our machinists make it — controlling quality and turnaround instead of waiting on someone else's lead time.

05

Parts Department

Our parts team takes it personally when a customer is down. If it's on the shelf, you'll have it. If it isn't, they'll chase it down or have it made — because the goal was never to sell a part, it was to get you rolling.

06

Office & Front Counter

The voice on the other end of the phone and the people who keep quotes, orders, and schedules straight. They're the ones who make sure you're talked to like a neighbor, because most of the time you are one.

We don't say “our people” as a figure of speech. Every trailer that leaves this yard has somebody's name on it in their own mind — and they'd tell you which one they built. That kind of ownership can't be hired for and it can't be trained in. People build entire careers in this shop and retire out of it — and that, more than any piece of equipment we own, is the whole company.

We're always looking for good hands →

OUR CUSTOMERS

The best customer base we could have asked for

We have never run an advertising campaign. Not one. Everything Buckner Trailers has become was built strictly on word of mouth — one satisfied customer telling the next. That's a humbling way to grow a business, because it means you can't buy your way out of a bad job. You either do right by people or you don't grow.

01

They stayed

Customers who brought us their first trailer years ago are still bringing us their fleets. Some have been with us nearly since the doors opened in 2010.

02

They came back

Repair, then refurb, then a modification, then a new build. The relationship grows because the work held up — job after job, year after year.

03

They sent their friends

Nearly every new customer we've ever had came in because someone they trust told them to call us. That referral is the highest compliment in this business.

04

They kept us honest

A word-of-mouth business has nowhere to hide. Our customers set the standard we're held to, and we're better for it.

If you've ever recommended us to somebody, you're part of the reason this shop is still here and still growing. We know that. Thank you.

Come see the shop, meet the crew, and find out why people keep sending their friends.
